Before the Search widgets can be configured in the portal, both Categories and File Resources must first be configured.
Categories
Categories define a structure used to categorize the File Resources.
To add a new Category, click the “+” and then select Category.
Complete the necessary general properties and then click Save and Publish.

| Name | Name of the category. |
| Title | The title of the category used on the website. |
| Description | The description displayed for the category. |
| Hide from Navigation | Indicates whether the category should be hidden from view in the Search Navigation widget. |
File Resources
File Resources define the files that that the search will use. The files should already exist in Media –> Files.
To add a new File Resource, click the “+” and then select File Resource.
Complete the necessary general properties and then click Save and Publish.

| Name | Name of the file resource (the name that is displayed to the user in the search results) |
| File | The file associated with the file resource. Click the “Choose” button to select from the list of Media Files. |
| Description | The file resource description. Description is indexed for the search and can be used by the website user to find the file resource. |
| Author | The author of the file resource. |
| Categories | Select one or more categories associated with the file resource. |
| Searchable | Indicates whether the file resource is searchable or not. (Default is True) |
